UP Bus-Truck Strike: The effect of protest against the new transport rules was visible on Monday in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, Basti, Bulandshahr, Baghpat, Firozabad, Agra, Badaun, Hamirpur, Sultanpur and Meerut districts. The drivers of trucks and roadways buses went on strike and blocked the buses. Passengers are facing a lot of trouble as roadways buses are not running on the first day of the New Year.

Under this law, a provision of fine of Rs 5 lakh and imprisonment of ten years has been made. Roadways bus drivers of UP have opened a front against this. The bus drivers also raised slogans against the government. Bus driver Satbir Singh said that he will not drive the bus until the government withdraws the black law. All the drivers refused to drive the bus. Transport businessmen have also opposed the new transport rules of the Central Government.
Buses did not leave the depot
Businessmen are protesting under the banner of Meerut Transport Association. Bus and truck drivers started a strike on Monday. Drivers blocked the roadways buses. Roadways buses did not leave from the depot. Passengers had to face a lot of problems due to buses not running.
Strike was called
It is noteworthy that the All India Truck Drivers Organization had called for a strike on January 1. Drivers did not allow buses to exit from Bhainsali bus stand, Sohrab Gate bus stand. Regional Manager in-charge of Meerut Zone of Roadways, Lokesh Rajput said that the truck drivers did not allow the buses to exit at Bhainsali Bus Depot, Meerut Bus Depot, Sohrab Bus Stand. We have tried to convince them.
